It was very important to me that our hiking tribe was with us in the beginning. Love these girls and the little man too! They are badass hikers for sure.
For the girls, it was not the first time they hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail. When they were young and we lived in Virginia, we liked to hike them 20 miles over a long weekend. Paige was only 4 and Nikki was only 7. It frequently rained hard and even snowed. Perhaps it was our own form of child abuse but somehow they still love to hike.
